So, my final essay in due in one of my two classes – College Composition I which means I have a teacher who is ALL about writing – this semester for my Nutrition Sciences degree. My husband was supposed to come home from hunting yesterday and ‘ooops’ never showed up until almost noon today! Buh Bye Summa Cum Laude it was nice knowing ya – so glad I have an awesome support system to pursue my degree!!!
I cannot begin to tell you all how excessively frustrating it is to have such an important paper due and no time to accomplish it in the way I want – you know my usual “Type A” OCD style of perfection. My brain cannot function clearly enough to do my research and writ in any form of coherency with a very loud 7 year old boy and SpongeBob SquarePants blasting.
I had a good solid thesis, or so I thought, but as I write I realized I took into account entirely too much information and had to cut back some to focus the scope of my paper more. I was super excited as I write to keep using the TurnItIt function in my school’s student portal to see I have NO plagiarism issue at all – YAY ME everything was coming out beautifully in my own words! Then it hit… the realization that because of the delay due to deer that I could not use the peer review services because they take up to 72 hours. Yes – let the hyperventilation begin!! OMG what do I do? Why yes of course – post on Facebook HAHA.
Luckily my daughter is a published author and uses APA format – Ashley to the rescue! She reviewed my paper for me and helped me to correct some APA format errors and explain to me how they should have been done as well as point out I have some information in my essay that needed supporting citations.
After all was said an done, 7 hours and lots of cups of hot chai tea later, the essay was submitted. And now I wait to receive my final grade…..
